Overview

The Nuclear Missile, also known as Nuke or simply Missile, is an "original"(check Trivia) unit from The Conquerors 3 that can be produced in the Nuclear Silo. It's the third most expensive unit in the game, with the Mothership being the first and the Aircraft Carrier being the second, however, it's the unit that deals most damage out of all one-use units with a big Area of Effect and high cost, making it a better weapon for the late-game.

Usage

As stated in the Nuclear Silo page, people are most likely to use this in buildings or armies that aren't moving as Nukes can be dodged easily if the player knows what they're doing. But, if one wants to make Nukes, they'll have to do the following things:

  • After the research, place the Silo down and wait until it's done. If you desire, you can also research Fire Nukes, check the Nuclear Silo usage section to see what type of Nuke you should use and if Fire is worth it or not.
  • Right-click on the Silo and make a Nuke, it takes around 5 minutes for its production to be finished.
  • When the production of the Missile ends you'll hear a sound, go to the Silo and left-click on the Nuke. Be careful so you don't click on the Silo or anything else.
  • Go to the position you want to nuke and press N to activate it, you can also do this by enabling it through the production bar that appears at the bottom of your screen after selecting a unit. After doing so you'll see a red glowing target spinning in the position your mouse is.
  • Click on the position and wait for it, as a nuke travels at 32 studs p/ second, it should come in less than 3 seconds.

Keep in mind that Fire Nukes don't make any explosions once they hit the ground, the only way of knowing if they really worked is by the fire effect they make in the buildings and units they hit, and by the light emission.

If all the steps were made correctly, all units in the range of the nuke should be damaged, if this isn't the case then read the steps again to see if you skipped something, also go to your base and check if the Nuke is still in the Silo.

Strategy

  • When nuking big bases, always remember that if your enemy has enough fire power, he can destroy your Nuke mid-air, don't nuke mega-bases that have many HQs, CCs or Anti-Air Turrets together, this will just make you waste a nuke.
  • As stated in the Nuclear Silo strategy section, only use Missiles to kill targets that won't move when the nuke is mid-air, this can be hard if your enemy is a good player that actually knows how to use the mini-map, try to distract them and then nuke, or get your ally to do so.
  • If you're going to nuke something, try to nuke and then strike, nukes usually don't one-hit buildings, but can get a good portion of their health for a good strike. You can also try to nuke enemies with an Ally, which makes your attacks way more effective.
  • To maximize damage done, have your allies nuke in unison. Three nukes can level a base or cripple one when done correctly.
